Biography
Scott Wilson was born in Oakville, Canada. He began his career with the Oakville Rangers (SCTA, 2006-2009), Georgetown Raiders (OJHL, 2009-2011), and UMass-Lovell (NCAA, 2011-2014) junior teams. Scott was selected in the seventh round of the 2011 NHL Draft at No. 209 overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins, and moved there in 2014. From 2014 to 2018, he defended the colours of Pittsburgh in the NHL and the Wickes-Berry/Scranton Penguins' farm club in the AHL. With Pittsburgh, Scott won the Stanley Cup in the 2016/17 season, appearing in 20 playoff games and scoring 6 (3+3) points.
In the 2017-18 season, Scott moved to Detroit, and the very next year was traded to the Buffalo Sabres, where he played for both the main team and for the Blades‘ apron club Rochester Americans in the AHL until 2020, after which he moved into the Florida Panthers’ system. Scott's career then included the Syracuse Crunch (AHL, 2020/21) and Charlotte Checkers (AHL, 2021/22). In 2023, Scott moved to the KHL, where he played for Vityaz for two seasons.
