Press conference of head coaches Ilya Vorobyov and Yuri Mikhailis, as well as players Nikolay Goldobin and Valery Orekhov Metallurg will start play-off games against Barys from Nur-Sultan

From minus two to plus three! As a result – 7:4!

With an incredible and striking victory over Barys, Metallurg Magnitogorsk started in the playoffs of the 2021 Gagarin Cup.

This was the seventeenth meeting between Metallurg and Barys in the Gagarin Cup playoffs. Magnitogorsk started it with the most experienced Vasily Koshechkin at the gate, for whom this game was already 95th in the playoffs for Magnitogorsk. He could not finish the match – after three missed goals, he was replaced by Juho Olkinuora.

The teams showed a crazy tension match, both changed goalkeepers, scored 11 goals for a couple. Metallurg successfully coped with the role of catch-up and was able to crush the opponent in the second period.

The first victory for Metallurg!
